My work is
mainly oil painting but love to do watercolors or pastels for a change
of pace. My style is representational. I love the process of working
with oils, being able to push it around, almost like sculpting it.
I started
painting at a very young age. The first oil painting that I did for public
viewing was in the 4th grade for a school project. My teacher kept
the work. Now I wish she hadn’t. I would love to see what I did back then.
Painting has always been a way of life for me. I cannot imagine not doing it.
Due to an accident in 1997 I am now somewhat
limited in what I can do. Going out to paint depends on someone having to go
with me. My first love is landscape, the wilder and rockier the better,
especially the Big Bend National Park, Texas. Painting rocks and water have been
the subjects I have done more in the last few years.
My husband and family have been very
supportive of my work and now especially that I have to have more help. They
have encouraged and pushed me when I have been discouraged. But God has been so
good to me by letting me be able to continue to do my work. |
