Gary Schrweid

Gary Schrweid is recognized for his technique of paintings cowboy boots and hats that reflect the western style of the cowboys who wore them. The combination of fiery colors and attention to details will summon you from across the room to enjoy the rich textures, colors and the illusion of 3-D images. All his western images are painted with acrylic on wooden panels that are individually cut out by hand to the shape of the images. The artwork is designed to hang slightly off the wall by use of small wooden blocks that are attached on the back of each piece of art work.

Born and raised in rural Nebraska and later moving to Colorado to become an art teacher, Gary found a western style that is reflected in his work. He has a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. His training also includes studies in Florence, Italy, Kansas City Art Institute, and paintings workshops in Acapulco.
